CIHEAM Bari is the Italian headquarter of CIHEAM (Centre International de Hautes Etudes Agronomiques Méditerranéennes), an intergovernmental organization founded in 1962 under the aegis of the OECD and the Council of Europe, which operates through its 4 Institutes based in Bari (Italy), Chania (Greece), Montpellier (France) and Zaragoza (Spain), while the General Secretariat is based in Paris. CIHEAM Bari is a center for postgraduate training, applied scientific research and design of partnership interventions on the territory within the framework of international research and cooperation programs. Cooperation and research actions cover important issues such as food security, poverty reduction, institutional capacity building, more efficient use of natural resources, enhancement of agricultural productivity, promotion of organic farming and development of sustainable food systems.

Almacube is an innovation hub and business incubator certified by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development. Founded in 1999, Almacube has two strategic units, the Open Innovation Unit and the Start-up & Spin-off Unit, which aim to promote innovation and economic development in the area by bridging the industrial world and the research world.

We help SMEs and big established corporates bring innovation through customised open innovation programmes involving students, young professionals, researchers, professors, and startups, employing Design Thinking, Lean Startup and Human Centered Innovation techniques.
